Once your website is included in any of these search engines it will begin to appear in other search engines that take some or all of their results from these most important search engines, for example ODP supplies results to AOL, Netscape and others.
|We Submit to: (as defined by FirstPlace Software's WebPosition Gold)
|Search Engines (managed and maintained by computer)
|Google, Inktomi*, AOL, Overture, MSN, Fast / All the Web / Lycos, AltaVista, LookSmart*, Yahoo (*paid submission / results)
|Directories (managed and maintained by humans)
|ODP Open Directory Project, Yahoo
This is a lengthy process requiring care and an in depth knowledge of the submission rules for each search engine / directory. We submit only one web page per day to each search engine.
It is possible to promote your site in some of the search engines by buying keyword rankings, a featured position or a quick review and placement in their listings. If you need quick exposure this is a good method but visitors are more reluctant to visit commercial sites they can see have purchased their position and will more often move on to site in the regular listings. Some search engines charge to be reviewed and to maintain your website's listing, i.e. Yahoo business section charges $300US per year.
A website may not be accepted by a search engine. Each search engine or directory has its own criteria for entry into their listings and there is no guarantee that a submission will be accepted. If your website is not included within a reasonable amount of time (usually 6 weeks) we will submit the web pages again.
