Nong Samet

Nong Samet was an early camp inside Cambodia.

Nong Samet camp was located south of Phnom Chat camp and north of Nong Chan camp on the border opposite Khao I Dang Camp ........See "Border Camps Map - 1984"

In late 1984 and early 1985 there was a major Vietnamese offensive all along the border that overran most of the camps  and even intruded into Thailand, (see Border History, these dates for a more detailed chronology of events). Nong Samet was first evacuated to Red Hill then to a site adjacent to Khao I Dang before finally being incorporated into Site II.
